Helen Anderson is Managing Director of The Network One, a body looking after the interests of and connections between 1,200 independently run marketing and public relations agencies in over 100 countries. Previous to this Helen led the Global Marketing and Communications team at the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment for seven years and in 2016 -17 she was Director of Communications and Events at the US Chamber of Commerce in London looking after the interests of business across the transatlantic corridor working with the US Embassy and Ambassador in London and the UK House of Lords. From 2009-2015 she led the Marketing and Communications function for the City of London Corporation’s 14 Open Space Trusts, which included a rebrand of some iconic sites around London such as Epping Forest and Hampstead Heath. Before that Helen was Head of Events and Communications for the Association of Town and City Centre Management and she started her career as an Event Manager at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Helen has a Masters in Leadership and Management, is a Chartered Fellow and on the Ethics Committee of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, is a Chartered PR Practitioner and Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, a Board Trustee for the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine, a Member of CIMSPA and UK Coaching, on an Advisory Panel for GamCare, a volunteer for Re-engage and she is Chair of a School Governing Body for the Osborne Academy Cooperative Trust.
Julie Atherton is a CIM Course Director and founder of the social media transformation advisory and marketing consultancy Small Wonder. A business leader, public speaker, consultant, and strategist she specialises in advising organisations on embedding social media in their strategic development and growth.
An author, her social media strategy books are used globally by PR, marketing and sales professionals, and universities and are built on 30 years’ experience gained advising and training global brands, small independents and innovative start-ups including Deloitte Digital, Mott MacDonald, Nissan, ITV, Pure Gym, Axa Group, St John Ambulance, Parcelforce Worldwide, Emerge Digital, the Arnolfini and SmartViz.
Pamella is a global marketing and advocacy leader with nearly two decades of experience working for start-ups, medium-sized and global organisations, and prestigious brands including Microsoft UK, Amazon Web Services, Mastercard, Oracle, Shell, and S&P Dow Jones. Along with this, I have a strong academic background, coaching qualifications, and a passion for empowering people and organisations to grow and thrive.
Pamella has also volunteered as a mentor and coach and launched learning programmes which benefits thousands of people on a probono basis. I am honoured to have won several awards including CIM Volunteer of the Year 2020, TechWomen100 2021 and MSFT Gold Club 2022, for my achievements in my career and contributions to the community.

Neil is the founder of SaturnFive®, an international consulting practice specialising in strategic marketing and business transformation.
Early in his career, he led the transformation of the Audi brand in the UK with a bold strategy of product rejuvenation, highly distinctive marketing communications and a new retail model.
While at Goodyear, he redesigned the award-winning 'HiQ' franchise programme with a revolutionary e-business model and new retail concept to grow the sales
channel and raise industry standards in customer experience.
He has worked in executive B2B and B2C marketing roles in the UK and internationally and is a passionate believer in the power of brands to drive business growth.
Abby Dixon is an award-winning marketer, consultant, speaker, mentor, and trainer, with 20+ years of industry experience delivering growth for many household brands, across multiple sectors.
As Founder of The Whole Marketer, also a popular podcast and book, Abby combines her strategic and marketing capability expertise with being an accredited ICF coach, empowering marketers to develop holistic skills and behaviours for a successful and fulfilling career and life as a whole.
She believes that marketing should lead the business's long-term commercial agenda and is passionate about supporting the marketers behind the brands and businesses to deliver this.
Charlie established The Foundation in 1999 to help organisations be customer not financially led. Inspiration came from working on a new car company launch that disrupted an inward-looking industry.
Recent projects include helping the £18bn supermarket Morrisons run a customer-led turnaround from 2015 to a PE sale for £7bn in 2021, helping Jaguar Land Rover tackle a customer-led transformation of business model and approach in the UK and helping airport group AGS go from being in internal disarray and external decline to an outward-looking, purposeful and united success focused on the people they serve.
He co-authored a book about customer-led success, The Customer Copernicus, completed in 2021 explaining why something looking attractive and obvious is rare and temporary. He is now working with Continental Tyres globally plus E.ON and housing association Moat in the UK, helping them become customer pioneers, organisations that succeed by going first in their sectors to make things better for customers.
He has a degree in Engineering and then worked in advertising, a combination helpful in bringing business and customers together
Chris is Head of Marketing at Thinkbox, the marketing trade body for commercial TV in the UK, where he and a crack team of telly addicts work together to help advertisers and agencies get the most out of today’s TV.
Highlights include the 2022 launch of Happily Ever After, the latest in Thinkbox’s acclaimed series of TV ads showcasing the power of TV advertising. Chris is also marketing lead for TV Masters, Thinkbox’s award-winning online training course in TV advertising, which has certified almost 5,000 graduates in under three years.
Chris’s career began at Manchester PR agency Brazen, whilst there establishing and running its bespoke events division, Brazen LIVE. He next moved into marketing in commercial radio, growing audiences for multiple brands including Heart and Smooth at GCap, Guardian Media Group Radio and Global. He later moved onto digital and print news brands to head up consumer marketing at Metro for DMG Media, before joining Thinkbox in 2017.
Alongside his role at Thinkbox, Chris is a Board Director at Outvertising, the marketing and advertising industry’s not-for-profit LGBTQIA+ advocacy group. He is Mental Health First Aider and a passionate advocate for improved mental health awareness and training in the workplace.
Katie Hart has created a career out of bringing together neuroscience and marketing - two disciplines which compliment each other, but are rarely used together to their full potential. Having studied and worked in this emerging field for over 14 years, she has a vast array of experience and knowledge which she confidently shares with her audiences.
Katie is passionate about ensuring marketers understand and appreciate the critical role humans play within the marketing process and the challenges and opportunities these provide. Her sessions are insightful and enlightening, making potentially complex neuroscience content accessible, digestible and fun.
In 2022, Katie completed a Masters in Applied Neuroscience, passing it with distinction. She utilises this academic knowledge to create innovative neuromarketing research and identify unique opportunities on behalf of her customers (who include Unilever, Honda and Lloyds Banking Group).
As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Katie is also a tutor for the world-renowned Cambridge Marketing College, specialising in Customer Insights.

Kerttu Inkeroinen is Marketing and E-commerce Director of Lucky Saint, the UK's #1 dedicated alcohol-free beer brand. Kerttu has worked in consumer goods for over 17 years, starting her career working with household-name brands of Kimberly-Clark (Kleenex, Andres and Huggies) before moving on to journey through the drinks sector: from the FMCG giant The Coca-Cola Company leaping into the world of scale-ups at Union Hand-Roasted Coffee, before joining Lucky Saint in 2022.

Simon is a lead consultant with Chime Group and VCCP Business, delivering strategic counsel in international relations, communications, crisis communications and reputation management for governments, corporations and individuals around the world. Over the last 20 years he has advised chief executives and chairs of global organisations, in addition to managing complex and global communications campaigns for some of the world’s leading brands. Simon Jones co-authored "Lie-Ability", Routledge (2022) with Alan Watkins.
Martin Liu is the COO and Publisher of LID Business Media. He brings several decades of experience at the top level of publishing in the business and professional fields. A multiple award-winner, Martin counts editorships, directorships and publishing roles among his career highlights. Clients call him “intelligent, focused and enormously supportive”.
Gavin Llewellyn is a Chartered Marketer with over 16 years’ experience working across a variety of businesses, both B2B and B2C, agency and client-side. He has also worked within a range of different sectors, including financial services, FMCG, retail, higher education and software technology.
Gavin has worked and consulted with small and medium-sized companies, as well as national and globally recognised brands, including Nationwide Building Society, PepsiCo International, Volvo and Microsoft. Chief Marketing Officer at allplants (ex Unilever and Coca-Cola), Shelley is building the future of food for the next generation. Founded in 2017, allplants is taking on the ultra-processed food industry, serving up chef-prepared nutritionally balanced meals to be enjoyed at home.
Paving her way into allplants, Shelley was Global Marketing Director at Sipsmith, building the brand from a tiny start-up in a West London garage to a leading global craft gin, eventually selling and integrating into Beam Suntory, a world leader in premium spirits.
The first half of her career was spent at Unilever and The Coca-Cola Company, working across UK, Regional and Global functions, most latterly as Coke Zero European Brand Director. After more than a decade in corporates, startup life beckoned.
The former agency creative director, Reuben has over 25 years of marketing experience at local and global level across a range of b2c and b2b brands.
Having spent a large proportion of that time presenting and pitching to clients, stakeholders and other interested parties, the last 10 years has seen Reuben use this expertise to help individuals and organisations develop their narrative and storytelling skills to create and deliver kick-ass presentations.
From corporate keynotes to intensely personal TED talks, Reuben has helped hundreds of marketers at all levels of agencies and organisations translate their thinking into powerful, memorable presentations that resonate for audiences large and small.
In addition, Reuben has taken his twin passions of brand and communication into the realm of personal development, helping individuals and groups better understand and manage their personal brands to unlock their full potential both inside and outside work.

He is also the voice of the Digital Marketing Podcast, a worldwide top-ten business podcast, and an award-winning author for publisher Kogan Page (Mobile Marketing, Digital Branding, Building Digital Culture, Podcast Marketing Strategy) whose books have been translated into 12 languages.

Originally from Los Angeles and now based in London for over 30 years, she has advised over 260 businesses across 27 countries including BAE Systems, Burberry, Chanel, HSBC, Lufthansa, Ricoh, the UK’s Department for Business & Trade and more.

Naomi has over 15 years’ experience working in B2B marketing across the public and private sectors, with Arvato working across retail, automotive, and central and local government as core verticals. During this time she completed a PhD in Marketing Innovations & Applications.
In her current role, as Director of Marketing & Communications, she is responsible for leading the marketing and communications programme for Arvato’s customer service and business process outsourcing division in the UK and South Africa, including strategy development, lead generation, advising our Board and overseeing the delivery of external and internal communication.
Naomi is passionate about putting the customer and employees truly at the heart of all marketing, through insight-led, customer journey focussed, creative campaigns.
Dan White is a marketing and insights innovator. His contribution to the industry includes identifying what makes global advertising effective, scrutinizing the potential for viral, search and ’depth’ marketing, and championing innovative marketing measurement techniques. His frameworks and visualizations have influenced generations of marketers and are built into the world’s leading brand measurement, media evaluation and copy-testing systems including Kantar’s BRANDZ, LinkTM and Cross Media solutions and Unilever’s PreView & Brand Health Check systems.
Dan’s career includes a decade as a marketing analyst, another as a brand and communications consultant and a third as a Chief Marketing Officer. Dan splits his time between client consultancy, training, platform speaking, illustration and writing. He is the author of three best-selling books, ‘The Smart Marketing Book’, ‘The Smart Branding Book’, and the ‘The Soft Skills Book’.
Phil Woodford is a former advertising creative director, who now works as a freelance consultant, trainer and writer. Responsible for delivering a number of courses for CIM in copywriting and marketing communications, he is also an Associate Lecturer at University of the Arts London and the private French university network OMNES Education. Phil holds a Master’s degree in Occupational & Business Psychology and is interested in how the values of organisations are communicated to the wider world. Each week, he co-hosts a news review show on Colourful Radio, broadcast on DAB from the Africa Centre in London.
Sophie Woodford has gained nearly 30 years marketing experience since she first earned her CIM diploma all those years ago.
As a frequent traveller, she recently landed her dream job at Virgin Atlantic as Global Head of Identity, Creative and Design but has worked across a variety of industries in FMCG, medical devices, pharma and retail.
Her career has spanned both consumer and B2B, building households brands such as Andrex, Kleenex, Huggies and Systane eye drops. (Yes, she got to meet the Andrex puppy!)
Sophie is passionate about creativity in marketing, driving behaviour change and creating seamless brand experiences.
CIM Judges
Gina Balarin is the Director of Verballistics and an inspirational TEDx and keynote speaker, storyteller, content marketer, speech writer and B2B marketing leader. Her qualifications include: BA(Hons) DipM MEd. She's an FCIM Chartered Marketer, and a Fellow of the AMI. She has written The Secret Army: Leadership, Marketing and the Power of People, a fiction novel, and too many ghost-written pieces of content to count. She sits on the boards of Project Displaced and The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and is a member of the Professional Speaking Association. When she’s not telling stories, Gina loves hiking, doing ballet and drinking too much tea.
Dr June Dennis is Chair of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and managing director of Mountain Top Perspectives Limited which provides strategic marketing support to SME boards.
June has over 30 years’ of experience working in senior marketing roles in sectors ranging from clothing and textiles to engineering plastics and retail. She has a particular interest in the agency/client relationship. She has acted as an expert witness in English and Scottish legal cases in this area as well as intellectual property.
June has been a member of the CIM since the early 1990s and is a Chartered Marketer and Fellow of the CIM. She has held senior roles at Leeds Beckett University, University of Wolverhampton and, most recently as Dean of Staffordshire Business School. She currently works with higher education institutions worldwide on curriculum design and development projects and still teaches on DBA programmes and the UK Government Help to Grow programmes. She is passionate about ensuring business and marketing curriculum is current and applied, particularly in integrating project work into the curriculum so that students experience working with local businesses.
Head of Consumer Business Strategy and Strategic Marketing at National Savings & Investments (NS&I), Michael has significant management experience including for marketing, brand and communications at British Business Bank. Michael has lectured for CIM courses including Digital strategy, Metrics and Innovation and is a marketing and sales practice advisory board member at Cranfield University as well as an advisory route panel member for marketing and sales apprenticeships and T levels with the Institute of apprenticeships and technical education (IfATE).
