  • CIM Statement on the sad passing of Louis Olivieri

    07.06.2023

Louis Olivieri was passionate about the marketing profession and about CIM’s role as the standard bearer for the profession. He was the first Chair of the newly created Malta Member Group in 2008 and continued in that role until 2016. He was subsequently appointed to the post of CIM Volunteer Ambassador for Malta. His diligence, attention to detail and professionalism provided an exemplary standard for any volunteer to follow.

Louis pioneered a number of initiatives to drive the development of the marketing profession in Malta, many of which are now reflected in the principles applied in other markets across the globe. Some of the initiatives that Louis was passionate about included: growing engagement with young aspiring marketers, providing opportunities for marketers to develop capability through training and qualifications, engaging with the business community and trade bodies in a constructive and meaningful way and building the voice of the profession through the publication of articles in respected media publications.

Chris Daly, CEO, CIM said: “I met Louis many times and his passion for the marketing profession was always readily apparent. Louis was a proud marketer and a proud member of CIM. Louis would always strive to deliver the highest quality output in whatever task he turned his hand to, and as a result, he was highly respected amongst his peers and colleagues. Louis’ stellar reputation preceded him and was evidenced by the calibre of speakers he was able to attract to the many events he ran on behalf of CIM Malta.”

Our thoughts are with his wife Elizabeth and his family.
