    Winners announced at CIM Ireland Marketing Awards 2020

    • Annual CIM Ireland Marketing Awards celebrate the very best marketing innovations, interventions, and campaigns
    • The Irish News, Tayto NI, Hastings Hotel and Liberty IT were the winners of four prestigious awards
    • This year’s awards ceremony was held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic

    Last week, the winners of the Chartered Institute of Marketing’s (CIM) Ireland Marketing Awards 2020 were announced virtually, in an online ceremony. The awards were hosted by Chris Gilroy, chair of CIM Ireland and judged by an esteemed panel of experts, including Matthew Scott, CEO of Nevada Studios and Evelyn McGlynn, consultant at Donegal Women in Business.

    Since 1999, the awards recognise and celebrate the successful work within the marketing community across Ireland.

    This year’s winners included The Irish News who scooped the Best Corporate Social Responsibility award for their Young News Readers project campaign to develop and improve school pupils’ literary skills, as well as introducing them to the world of news. The project offered a succinct and valuable CSR proposition, benefiting many school pupils’ in the years to come.

    Crisps manufacturer, Tayto NI were awarded with the Best Integrated Campaign, whilst AV Browne on behalf of Hastings Hotel scooped the Best Brand Building Campaign and software company, Liberty IT triumphed in the Best Use of Digital Marketing category.

    Maggie Jones, CIM director of qualifications and partnerships said: “We’ve been very impressed by the breadth of talent entering this year’s CIM Ireland Marketing Awards. Despite the challenges that we have faced in 2020, it is great that we have been able to recognise and celebrate the insight, creativity and impact Irish marketers are having on the world. Many congratulations to all the winners and finalists, they reflect the very best in marketing talent.”

    On the day, Chris Gilroy, chair of CIM Ireland, said: “We are delighted to be able to announce the finalists and winners for four of the original eight categories - the Best Use of Digital Marketing, Best Corporate Social Responsibility campaign, Best Integrated Campaign and Best Brand Building Campaign.

    "Our winners have demonstrated the enormous value that marketing brings to a business or an organisation, particularly during these challenging times of immense change. I would like to offer my congratulations to all who made it to the finals.”

    The CIM Ireland Marketing Awards are a celebration of the very best marketing innovations, interventions and campaigns crafted by organisations, businesses and agencies from across Ireland.
