    Overview

    Successful innovation is vital for survival.  It ensures that your products stay competitive and that strategic growth opportunities are exploited. On this course you will conduct an Innovation Audit to highlight your company’s strengths and weaknesses in five critical success areas.  We will consider a step-by-step NPD process used by leading innovators, applying this through interactive activities and discussing contemporary examples. You will develop skills for implementing sustainable innovative marketing to support the launch of new products with people, planet, and profit at the core.

    Who should attend?

    This workshop will be especially useful for managers and senior executives, irrespective of function, who are or expect to become involved in the development of new products (goods and services) and the innovation process within their organisation.

    Learning outcomes

    • Define the characteristics and benefits of strategic innovation management
    • Undertake an Innovation Audit and highlight improvements in five critical success factors: strategy, learning, linkages, organisation and process
    • Design a generic NPD process including gates and pipeline progress
    • Apply idea generation techniques including AI supported and sustainable opportunities
    • Apply screening and concept development techniques
    • Appreciate the role of business analysis, product development and launch planning
    • Identify innovation and NPD issues for your organisation and develop an action plan to address them

    Debbie Clewes

    Debbie is a very experienced trainer and consultant working with the CIM for many years delivering tailored in-company innovation and NPD workshops across sectors including Tesco, Barclay’s, Charles Wells Breweries, BHF and Rolls Royce. She also helps managers achieve their professional qualifications on the CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing leading the Innovation in Marketing and Marketing & Digital Strategy modules. Debbie is very positive, friendly and engaging and is genuinely interested in her delegates and their individual needs. She is focused on presenting from a strategic perspective, the most useful innovation frameworks and working collaboratively to apply these to practice helping inspire change and improve performance.
